Dr. Denise Adams-Berg

Fear Free Certified Professional

Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Denise Adams-Berg grew up in a small farming town in Central Illinois, where she spent the first decade and a half of her life on a family farm with goats, cows, chickens, cats, dogs, sheep, ducks, and quail. After high school graduation, she moved to California to attend college and obtained a degree in literature from the University of California, Berkeley.

After leaving the farm, Dr. Adams found a way to remain in close connection with animals first by volunteering in an animal shelter and then by working in veterinary clinics in a variety of roles. It was at one such job, after graduating from college the first time, that she realized her passion for companion animal care. She made the life-changing decision to return to school and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis in 2012. Dr. Adams graduated with honors and obtained the CVMA award for practice excellence in her clinical year.

Since graduation, Dr. Adams has worked both in the Sacramento and Bay Area providing care to cats and dogs. Dr. Adams enjoys general medicine and surgery with a keen interest in dermatology and behavior. She considers it a privilege to accompany clients along their journey of pet ownership and enjoys nothing more completely than a patient who recognizes her and is happy to see her. She is a member of multiple professional veterinary organizations, including the AVMA, CVMA, and MCVMA, and she completed her Fear Free Certification in 2017.

Dr. Adams lives in Marin with her husband, three children, two dogs, and cat. When not working, you can find her at a child’s sporting event, on a hike with her dogs, or eating frozen yogurt.

With more than 20 years of professional companion animal experience, Dr. Adams has a profound connection with her patients and their caretakers. She strives to learn and grow from each interaction and to spend the time necessary to help clients understand any health concerns and available treatment options. Veterinary care is not just her profession, it is her passion.
